How to Create a Fill in the Blanks Question in ThinkExam?

The Fill in the Blanks question type enables administrators to create questions in which candidates must enter the correct answer in the blank provided within the question statement.

Steps to Create a Fill in the Blanks Question

  1. Log in to the Admin Panel.
  2. Navigate to the Question module.
  3. Click on Add button.

  1. Select the Question Entry Options like Subject, Topic and choose Fill in the Blanks in Question Type.


  1. Enter the question content in the Type Your Question field.


Choose the Answer Type format of the candidate's response.
  • Alphanumeric: Allows candidates to enter text, numbers, and special characters.
  • Numbers: Restricts the response to numeric values only.

Expand Advance Options and provide the required settings, such as:
  1. Right Marks
  2. Negative Marks (if applicable)
  3. Difficulty Level
  4. Tags
  5. Range From / Range To (if required)
  6. Click Save to create the question.

Note: Ensure that the correct Answer Type is selected, as it determines the format in which candidates can submit their responses.
